ARE TNC COMPANIES A TRANSPORTATION COMPANY OR A TECH COMPANY ? IT’S TIME TO DECIDE.

​    Are TNC Companies a Transportation Company or a Tech Company ? It’s time to Decide.
Ride Hail Companies, TNC ( Transportation Network Companies ) have always Identified that they are tech companies & not transport company, and therefore not subject to a majority of the rules for road basis businesses. However the 'technology' is a Major category in the world and anyone who's observed Silicon Valley Tech Base Business in the past 30 years will be aware that tech firms, Frequently go Bankrupt.
For Several years, Ride Hail ( TNC ) have increasingly been Descriptive  as transportation network companies (TNCs) these companies and people who run these companies of digital platforms that allow millions of willing transportation providers ( Ride Hail drivers) And Transportation consumers to Connect with each other & To provide the software that allow, the Ride Hail Drivers to Connect with the TNC Consumer users. The Software wich is proprietary to that company and that could be viewed as making it that these TNC companies really are Transportation companies and not tech company, because the Ride Hail Driver can’t operate as transportation without it. So, are these Companies really Tech Companies or are they Transportation Companies?
Some of These companies have openly and publicly announced their intentions to go all driverless with driverless vehicles one day, so then you will be in a time of asking yourself are these a tech company or transportation company? Because when the time comes will there be vehicles that are owned by the drivers that are currently operating as ride hail drivers using the TNC network, apps and software, and they will just have vehicles that they don’t have to operate anymore, or will it come to a point where the technology companies will have to Admit / Redesignate that they are a transportation company?  Is their plan to own and operate the vehicles once that happens can they still call themselves a tech company and not a transportation company?
 
To better answer this questions we must first look at what actually is a transportation company.
For this definition we will look at what the national definition for a transportation company is  this can differ from state to state and city to city just for examples.
A Transportation company is a provider that provides transportation for goods or services for hire.
According to the U.S Department of Transportation, this means.  The definition of an "authorized for-hire " carrier is a person or company that provides transportation for goods or services in Exchange of any monetary compensation will be considers a transportation company.
